Jeremy and I are at the airport awaiting our first flight to Chicago. In Chicago we have a 1 hour layover and then it’s off to Tokyo! Friends, please pray for our time in Tokyo this week. Pray that the Lord would send his spirit to empower those who will attend the SOMA training seminar to lead well in the days to come. Also, pray for our time with Yoshito as we begin to cast vision and make plans to minister together for God’s glory and the good of Tokyo.
In just 10 days from now I will be touching down in Tokyo. I never foresaw myself making 2 trips to Japan in 1 year but i’m thankful for how the Lord has worked. During our time with Yoshito this spring he hinted at how great it would be if we could come back at the end of the summer for the SOMA training seminar he was hosting.

This is the first is a series of posts that I will write about our trip to Japan this Spring.
I’m writing this from the highway bus headed back to Tokyo after a 4 day stint in Saku. Ten days ago Meg and I boarded a plane bound for Japan. We left for Japan with a mixed bag of emotions. During the weeks leading to our departure many people asked us if we were homesick and if we were ready to go back. Neither of us really knew how to answer those questions. Now after being back here I finally have an answer.
We spent our first full day in Japan traveling to Yokosuka. On the way we stopped by Kamakura to do a little sightseeing.
Meg and I are on our way back to Meridian, MS. Since our initial journey to Mississippi back in February there has been a slew of changes taking place. As time is limited right now, I will just explain what’s to come and will later follow up with a more detailed post.
After much prayer the decision has been made to remain in the states for a while longer. While we are in the states we will be centrally located in Columbia, Missouri and will serve alongside Karis Church. I will also join the internship program at Karis Church and will focus the internship on international missions and church planting. We are very blessed to have this opportunity to learn and grow during our time at Karis. We will also use this time to carefully plan and prepare for our return to Japan. We believe our time here will give us ample opportunity to explore all the options ahead of us and help us build a stronger network of churches and supporters.
Thank you for all you prayers. We are excited about the future!
